The 600 is a mainly flat ride (ideal for tandems) apart from a long, steady climb over the Chilterns in each direction, a short sharp climb into Daventry and a gentle climb to Belvoir Castle. Apart from the leg from Epsom to Marlow the route is generally on scenic minor roads but passing through towns where refreshments may be found. There are long stretches where navigation is very easy, good for night riding.
