This is a quiet route, which is part of an event scheduled for February 2001. 
It follows the Cheshire Cycle Route for much of the way and you can take
advantage of the blue cycle route signs. 
For the first 12 kilometers it is best to avoid rush hours. 
Off-road alternatives are to use Lyme Park (with a short section of stoney track)
or the Middlewood Way (muddy in places in wet weather) to Shrigley Lane,
continue south and right at T onto Brookledge Lane to Adlington. 
Here over the A523 onto Mill Lane and right at T, 
then the first left brings you onto the route at Mill Lane*.
