AUDAX ALTITUDE AWARD
The aim of the AAA is to encourage participation in hilly events and offer a challenge to regular long distance riders and also to those who do not wish to ride the longest events but who enjoy hard riding. It is popular, not only because of the challenge, but also because of the scenery it has to offer.
Any calendar or permanent event that is hilly enough can be included. The event scores AAA points based on distance and the amount of climbing, and both are shown in the calendar. Organisers wishing to include a new or revised event in the AAA should contact the AAA Man when it is in the planning stage.
Awards can be obtained by completing AAA events. Annual trophies are awarded to the male and female obtaining the highest number of AAA points in a season; there are also personal awards, and an annual Roll of Honour for riders obtaining at least 8 AAA points.
