Tour of the Borders and Galloway

611km cycling event starting from Ponteland. Controls at Alnwick, Morebattle, Moffat, Biggar, Lockerbie Truck Stop, Dumfries, Colvend, Dumfries and Longtown, plus 6 information controls.

The route loops through Northumberland, Scottish Borders then Dumfries and Galloway before returning along Hadrians Wall.

A very scenic route which also passes the Cheviot Hills, St Mary's Loch, Devil's Beef Tub and Loch Ken. Most of the climbs are gradual and on good, generally quiet roads. There are 24hr facilities and commercial sleeping options in Lockerbie Truck Stop 311km, Dumfries 335 and 473km. There will be food and a Village Hall with floor space and some airbeds available at Colvend 365km. Entries for this event are limited and may close before the closing date. If entries are not full at the closing date there may only be a limited number of late entries available if any.
