Eilean Dubh

208km cycling event starting from Nairn, Nr Inverness. Controls at Beauly, Muir of Ord and Cromarty, plus 1 information control.

Part of the of the North of Scotland SR series. Mostly quiet roads & lanes. 3 commercial controls, food at start & finish included in entry fee. Showers at the finish, bring your own toiletries.

Flat route skirting Inverness to the first café control at Beauly before going along one of the organiser's favourite roads to Cannich and then back down Strath Glass to the next café stop at Muir of Ord. The route around the Black Isle or in Gaelic Eilean Dubh, gives the chance to view Dingwall's local Munro, Ben Wyvis, which will probably still have the remnants of winter snow on the top. The route retraces the same roads through Inverness before crossing Culloden Moor back to Nairn. Route sheet, RWGPS and further information about NoS series available from website link below.
