Inverness 1200

1206km cycling event starting from Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire. Controls at Hackthorpe, Gretna Green, Abington, Paisley, Inveraray, Oban, Fort William, Inverness, Fort William, Crianlarich, Paisley, Abington, Gretna Green and Carnforth.

A 1200 km Audax from the Lancashire coast to Inverness and back - in a weekend! No SR required to ride this event! Entries are still open and are being taken on a first come -first served basis!

The Inverness 1200 will start on the outskirts of Lytham St. Anne’s, Lancashire. The route will pass through the flatlands of the Fylde before following the A6 to Carlisle. After the Scottish border, the route follows mainly B- roads to Paisley where feeding/sleeping arrangements are being made at the Paisley control. The route then follows a 600 km stretch around the Highlands; passing through (or close to) Inveraray; Oban; Fort William; Inverness and Glen Coe. The south-bound route from Paisley back to Lytham is exactly the reverse of the northern route direction! Entry transfers: If, after you’ve already entered you decide you’d prefer to ride the Fort William 1000 instead, transfers will be accepted free of charge up to anytime prior to the start time, subject to completing a little bit of additional paperwork (obtainable from the organiser). Transfers won’t be allowed after the event start time as this is against the original Audax ethos! ** No SR or any other qualification required to ride this event! Entries are now being taken on a first come - first served basis! ** Bunk-bed accommodation still being offered for Thursday 04 July for an additional charge of £12.70. See website below for further details! Might make a good'training' ride for those building up to PBP; or perhaps offer those an alternative who can't make the French ride. ** Final event information and route-sheet going out on Wednesday 26 June **
