The Petworth Start of Summer Time 50
50km cycling event starting from Hampers Green Community C, Petworth, W Sussex. Controls at , plus 3 information controls. A Start of Summer Time 50k Audax taster ride starting and finishing at Hampers Green Community Centre, Petworth.
Entries will be taken on the line, but print off entry form and routesheet before arrival.
Starting near the Village Hall, there are no manned controls on this rides, but plenty of places to feed, plus entry fee includes a simple feed at the end. Parking is the green adjacent to the Hall. On leaving the Centre you are quickly on a country road heading through Gunter's Bridge, Balls Cross before arriving in Kirdford. After Kirdford you head towards Wisborough Green, before turning north towards near Loxwood and your first Info. After Loxwood you continue through Plaistow and eventually into Chiddingfold. Crossing the A283 you soon arrive near Combe Common and your second info, before turning south. A bit of climbing now on some quite country lanes through Ansteadbrook, Dial Green and Lickfold before your final Info. The route will now take you on another quite country lane through River and Uppertea before you join the A272 in Tillington and return back to the Centre. For younger riders there is a footpath alongside the A272 back into Petworth for added safety.
