Chiltern Grit 200
214km cycling event starting from Aylesbury,Buckinghamshire, HP21 7QX. Controls at Emmer Green shops, Caversham, Stone (Aylesbury) and Stony Stratford, plus 5 information controls. Start location at Walton Hall, Walton Street, open from 7:15 AM for pre-ride coffee & breakfast. Easy access from A41 and Marylebone. Pay and display parking. Travelodge reasonable rates 5 min from Start.
The ride is set up for a February ride. The route is all on gritted roads. Starting in Aylesbury it tracks out and back to Caversham on B Roads, then onto the smaller villages in North Bucks returning East of Aylesbury. This is an event for experienced Randonneurs, capable of riding long distances in all conditions throughout the winter, carrying all necessary food, clothing, spares, first aid etc. suitable for such conditions. Taking in gritted roads in Berks, Bucks and Oxon the event is winter friendly and ideal for RRtY riders. Proof of passage has to be obtained by the entrant at main controls which are at commercial outlets. Proceeds from this event to project tbd at Holy Trinity, Aylesbury. Entry on the day fee 10.00 GBP regardless of AUK/CTC membership and only if spare cards are available. All proceeds go towards funding a Children's worker for Holy Trinity, Aylesbury, working with young people in the church and local communities
