Eager Belvoir

211km cycling event starting from Heeley, Sheffield. Controls at The Loaf Café, Crich, Kegworth, Fuel Tank Café, Belvoir and Inkersall Green, plus 2 information controls.

An East Midlands loop taking in some of the hills and vales of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, mainly following lanes and quiet country roads. Some unavoidable main road stretches, but never for too long.

Route heads out across Beeley Moor and along the ridge road to Crich, south-east to Long Eaton and over the River Trent, then through the Vale of Belvoir for a view of the Duke of Rutland's imposing castle, before heading back north through the fields and woods to see how the hoi polloi live in the former coalfield towns and villages of D.H. Lawrence country. Online entries open to 18.00 on 26/06. Places may be available on the day, but you must check with the organiser beforehand. GPS route file will be sent to all advance entrants who provide an email address.
