206km cycling event starting from Merton Hall, Ponteland. Controls at Alston, Middleton in Teesdale and Allendale Town, plus 2 information controls. A challenging route around the North Pennines. Good options for café/food stops at controls and a few other places along the route if needed. A great opportunity to ride this high level route
The North Pennines is a distinctive landscape of high moorland and broad upland dales in the North of England. It is one of the most remote and unspoilt places in England. The route goes across Alston Moor, Yad Moss, Middleton/Bollihope Common and Rookhope Head before descending the Allen Valley to return to Ponteland. Limited late entry and entry on the day may be available subject to a £2 surcharge. please enter online in advance or contact me if after closing date. Entries will be limited to 100.
