Charnwood in the Spring
103km cycling event starting from Trowell, Nottingham. Controls at MOUNTSORREL and EAST LEAKE, plus 2 information controls. ROLLING START 08.30-09.00

The start will again be at St Helens Church Hall, Trowell, situated on the main road about 200 yds east of the Festival Inn. For those arriving by car there is a small car park at the HQ, parking on Cossall Road would be a good option as the main road can become quite busy, Cossall Road is situated about 200 yds after M1 bridge going west on the right. Also Stapleford Road which is from M1 Bridge towards Ilkeston, Festival Inn on right turn left at Church on to Stapleford Road. This year’s route is as previous years, but due to the construction of the new Kegworth Bypass there are likely to be diversions on the road from Kegworth to Long Whatton. Officially the road is closed, however, the contractors have agreed to make access available on the day of the event. The first INFO control is at Shepshed, then through Charnwood Forest, Swithland, to Mountsorrel.(Control) Silby, Seagrave, Old Dalby (INFO Control) Willoughby, Wysall, Costock, East Leake,(Control) West Leake, Kegworth, Sawley, Breaston, Stanton by Dale, (Finish)Trowell. If you are unable to complete the ride please make sure that the organiser is informed, please give your name or number to another rider to notify the organiser or ring the organiser on the number provided on the card and route sheet.
