The Cambridge Autumnal 100

100km cycling event starting from Girton, Cambridge. Controls at Great Thurlow, Thaxted and Saffron Walden, plus 1 information control.

A late-year, early-season circular route through the hills to the south east of Cambridge to a café stop in Saffron Walden and a fast 7km descent from Balsham to Cambridge. A nice, autumnal ride with friends

The route starts with a climb up Six-Mile Bottom to Great Thurlow and a cross-country run to historic Thaxted for a quick receipt and then to Bicicletta café in Saffron Walden. Then up-and-over-and-up-again to Balsham, setting up a 7km downhill back thru Cambridge to the village pavilion in Girton. This is a great leg-stretcher and may include some interesting weather — ideal for shaking down the winter bike. There will be soup and cake at the finish. Cambridge is 50 minutes from London by train and most East Anglia rail services also pass this way. Girton is also very accessible by car. Full details on the website (soon).
