The Cambridge Autumnal 200
200km cycling event starting from Girton, Cambridge. Controls at Framlingham and Maglia Rosso, Hawstead. A late-year, early-season ride across the rolling landscape east of Cambridge. A straightforward route through lovely, historic towns and villages with big-skies terrain in between. Village hall start and finish.
The route heads due east for 100km to the historic Suffolk castle and market town of Framlingham, passing through Bury St Edmunds on the way. The route follows a mix of lanes and quiet B-roads, with the occasional very quiet A-road for fun. Perfect for autumn, whatever the weather. The return is even lanier and heads to the Maglia Rosso café in Hawstead to get a stamp or receipt and return to Cambridge via the 6km Six-Mile-Bottom descent. This is a great route for group-riding making it a very sociable event, as well as an opportunity to thoroughly check the winter bike. Cambridge is 50 minutes from London by train and most East Anglia rail services also pass this way. Girton is also very accessible by car. There will be cake at the finish.
