103km cycling event starting from Howden Minster, East Yorkshire. Controls at Welton and Blacktoft, plus 3 information controls. This event has a mandatory route - you should follow the route instructions as closely as possible. The Churches of Howden Deanery in East Yorkshire welcome riders to visit them all in one day on this circular route. Howden Minster and St Helen's in Welton will be offering complimentary refreshments and cake.
The Church of England is either blessed (or burdened) with some beautiful and historic buildings, which cost a lot of money to keep from falling down. However, these buildings house the real church: the people of God... who are keen to show Audaxers their hospitality. So two keen wheelmen from the church have plotted out a 100km route which visits all of them (in the Howden Deanery). The route is predominantly flat. As. A. Pancake... EXCEPT: to add a bit of 'scenic' to the ride there is a short detour into the Yorkshire Wolds and the wonderful views that affords. Come and join us for this enjoyable day out in the East Riding of Yorkshire. This is a Mandatory Route event.. A GPX file will be available to all riders, plus routesheet. Note there is secret controls... which may - or may not - be used. That's the trick with a secret control. So no cheating! :)
