Barbury Bash (210)

210km cycling event starting from Milton, Abingdon. Controls at Barbury Castle, Great Bedwyn and Hampstead Norreys. Living Rainforest, plus 5 information controls.

A scenic ride to the iron-age fort of Barbury Castle. Enquiries: audax@didcotphoenix.co.uk

The bigger sibling of the Barbury Bashes. To be brutally honest, you can't see Barbury Castle from the route as it is (a) a lump and (b) some distance from modern roads. Don't let this stop you entering and enjoying a cracking route. Three controls and 5 info controls. It is Surprisingly Hard for a 200, and there are remote sections. Please plan ahead for this, and note that you may have to go a little off-route for sustenance/water (not miles, we're still in the home counties here) if the day is hot.
