200km cycling event starting from Smallworth, Garboldisham, near Diss. Controls at Purdy's Tea Room and Bircham Windmill, plus 6 information controls. This is a renamed route, formerly the Garboldisham Groveller, which has proved very popular with riders. As 200km rides go, this is relatively easy, with no serious hills, pleasant country lanes and lovely scenery.
The route, which is much more of a dander than a grovel, passes some of the great houses of Norfolk, such as Blickling, Holkham and Houghton and skirts the Sandringham estate. There are two excellent commercial controls, Purdy's at Aylsham and Bircham Windmill, with an alternative refreshment stop at Burnham Deepdale. Free refreshments are provided at the finish- with home-made cake to die for! Accreditation will take place at the finish on the day, so no s.a.e.required for brevet cards.
