Chiltern Chiltern Bang Bang
200km cycling event starting from Ruislip, London. Controls at Wendover Woods . and Yateley (Receipt Requied)., plus 4 information controls. An unusual route of contrast, Chiltern hills & lanes contrasted with a selection of 'banging' fast flat road sections. through Middx, Herts, Bucks, Oxon, Berks, Hants & Surrey + Chitty Chitty Bang Bang locations
Slightly quirky parcours, the 3 main climbs at Berkhamsted Castle, Wendover Woods and Aston Hill (Stokenchurch) are all manageable with views and descents to enjoy including Ivinghoe Beacon. Something for everyone; puncheurs, grimpeurs, fixies and time trialists alike.... three main climbs, a couple of lumps and some fast sections all at a fraction of the price of a Ride London entry! There should be some audible 'Bang Bang' as the route passes the National Shooting Centre and a nice view from Chobham Common after the turn homewards through Surrey. Then up to Pinewood Studios and Carry On Ruislip....Phwoar!!! A 'Truly Scrumptious' route, designed for 'characters, pots' of tea at the one cafe control, one control needing a 'Chitty', four info controls that won't have riders suffering the 'old bamboo'zlement, passing them 'tout de suite' and smelling the 'Roses of Success' as they head through the shires. Depart / Arrivee at Grosvenor Vale Ruislip home of Wealdstone FC and Ruislip Social Club. Easy access by tube (Metropolitan, Piccadilly and Central Lines), train (Chiltern Line from Marylebone / Wycombe) and road (M40, M25, M4, M1 & M3). Simple food and tea/coffee at start included in price.
