Tees and Cake
50km cycling event starting from Ingleby Barwick, Stockton on Tees. Controls at Hutton Rudby, plus 2 information controls. ENTRY ON THE DAY 10 quid, subject to availability.
This route is one of our favourite rides for pootling along enjoying the simplicity of riding a bicycle in the Tees valley. The Cleveland hills loom on the horizon and riders will be able to enjoy this event without sharing the suffering of riders on the 100km KttR Audax and the Ralph Cross Audax. The route passes some lovely tearooms and there are opportunities to stop and rest. With the 10:30am start there is plenty of opportunity to reach the beginning via train from London or Edinburgh into one of three local stations, Darlington, Yarm or Thornaby, and there is plenty of time to catch one of several trains home before the last one leaves. This event is promoted and run by Ingleby Barwick Wheelers and Friends, a cycling group of friends from St Francis of Assisi church in Ingleby Barwick. There will be some lovely cakes baked by the Church and perhaps even some quiche. Tea and Coffee, Quiche and Cake all included in the entry fee. Entry on the day slightly more expensive.
