Riding a DIY permanent by GPS

DIY by GPS is a new way to ride Audax UK DIY permanent events. It allows you to validate your ride with AUK, using the tracklog recorded by your GPS unit.

How do I ride a DIY permanent by GPS?

To take part, you need to do the following

  1. Buy cards

    You need to buy 'virtual brevet cards' for your DIY ride from your local DIY organiser. Have a look at the Map of organiser boundaries to determine which organiser is closest to you. If your local DIY permanent organiser isn’t listed, and you’d like to take part, then feel free to contact another organiser.

  2. Plan your route

  3. Send in an entry form for your ride

    You need to send in an entry form for each ride. Click on the link below to send an entry form to your local organiser.

  4. Send in your completed tracklog

    Record your ride with GPS unit. There are some tips to keep in mind in the DIY by GPS guide. DIY by GPS guide

    Save the track(s) created by your GPS unit from your ride into a single .gpx file, and send it to your local organiser.
